Compassionate therapy
Online & in San Francisco
Hi, I'm Isobel. I'm a licensed therapist working with individual adults and couples in person in San Francisco and remotely throughout California.
I love helping people find a greater sense of internal freedom so they can express themselves more authentically and feel more meaningfully connected in their lives and relationships.
It takes courage to seek out a path of personal growth and healing. Therapy expands the range of possibilities you can access, ultimately allowing you to experience more vitality and joy and to be present for more of what life has to offer.
It’s not easy being human. Therapy with me provides a space to work through the difficulties you’re facing, freeing up your energy to be more fully present for your life. Depression, anxiety, relationship problems, shame, trauma, grief and life transitions are the biggest reasons people typically come to see me. Many of my clients are on a path from unworthiness and trauma to greater confidence and self-compassion.
My intention is to provide a space where you can be fully seen, heard and known. Imagine a state of perfect health being like a freely flowing river. If depression, anxiety or other problems are present, it tells us that the flow at some point got obstructed. We’ll explore your internal landscape and get to know those places inside that are blocked, stuck or hurting. From here, we work to gently shift those blockages using tools such as dialogue, mindfulness, and somatic awareness. My approach is holistic, taking into account both conscious and unconscious layers; the body, mind, and emotions; and the impact of trauma and formative experiences. In addition, because many enduring psychological wounds originate from relational experiences, the therapeutic relationship itself is often a powerful part of the healing process.
Whatever you’re facing, I know things probably aren’t feeling easy, but you don’t have to go through it alone. I hope you’ll reach out so we can explore how I may be able to support you on your path.
I strive to consistently embody humble allyship and to provide culturally sensitive services to people of all backgrounds and identities. I especially enjoy working with the LGBT+ community.
